Clear and strong
About Polycarbonate Roller Shutters
We recommend our polycarbonate clear view roller shutters if what you need is stellar visibility for window shopping combined with the protection and strength of steel. Polycarbonate is incredibly efficient and 100 percent transparent, ensuring we can ensure that your shutter enhances your building design as an owner or an architect. Made from polycarbonate of a non-toxic standard, they are practically unbreakable, scratch resistant and simple to maintain.
While offering protection and natural light transmission, they are planned and built for the highest degree of vision. Wonderful for retail and showroom applications, enabling potential buyers to view products even after closing for 24 hours. For many shop owners, they are a common option for shutters. They are designed to provide the store and merchandise with high visual visibility while providing protection and natural light flow.
They are lightweight and therefore simple to run. They can be applied manually or electrically and are suitable for retail stores , shopping malls, bars, doorways, showrooms and halls in particular.
The door can be controlled or motor-driven manually. For smaller openings, the manual push-up is suitable and does not require a power supply. In the event of power loss, the powered motor works with a manual over-ride hand chain for immediate activity.
With a fully enclosed configuration, the motor is adequately sized. The motor has a high starting torque, a built-in gear box and a heat protector built-in. The engine gearbox has an integrated centrifugal velocity regulator that ensures protection in the event of a free fall. An infinite hand chain is given for manual operation from the ground level in the case of power failure. To set the upper and lower limits for the movement of the curtain, adjustable limit switches are used.
Our high-grade polycarbonate and acrylic vision panels provide greater resistance to darkening and decoloration, providing a bright, durable image of the crystals.
Powder coat finishes
To show the identity of your brand and add a decorative feature to the inside and exterior of the building or storefront, your door has a wide range of colour choices available.
Lighter yet more durable
Seventeen times stronger than glass, at half the weight, is our polycarbonate and acrylic vision screen. It exhibits greater strength and breakage resistance.
100 mm high and 330 mm wide, 3 mm thick UV-treated and non-toxic polycarbonate slats are fitted with rounded top and bottom profiles. These slats are placed into hollow extruded aluminium alloy hinges that are 30 mm high and 16 mm wide with nylon end caps to lock axial movement in the top and bottom oval shape. Within the hinges, strengthened ribs have high impact strength and reduce the panels’ deflection well beyond most other contemporary designs. Nylon belts are placed around the edges of the curtains to generate a quiet and greaseless process.
The basic guide rails are cold-rolled to a ‘U’-shaped profile using a 3 mm thick galvanised steel coil. For opening widths of less than 3.5 m, sizes range from 60 mm to 36 mm, and for wider shutters, 90 mm to 36 mm. PVC strips can be supplied with optional heavy duty 3 mm thick aluminium guide rails that are 75 mm by 75 mm as an alternative.
The bottom bar is a ‘L’ shaped aluminium profile consisting of 60 mm high and 60 mm wide heavy duty extruded aluminium alloy. To obtain the PVC weather-seal, the base of the bar has dovetail grooves.
The shutter box consists of two heavy-duty steel endplates, 4 mm to 7 mm thick, depending on the size of the shutter; connected together by means of five 50 mm x 25 mm hollow steel parts, finished in black primer. The end plates are welded to attach the shutter box to the building frame using two 50 mm x 50 mm x 4.5 mm thick steel angles with slotted sealing holes.
The barrel is constructed of a heavy duty seamless steel pipe, welded according to the shutter size with axles of 35 mm diameter to 50 mm diameter. With heavy duty sealed roller bearings, this barrel is mounted to the right and left endplates.
The shutter box covers are made of steel sheets of 0.8 mm thick zincalume, with the edges folded to provide stiffness.
